We value the time of both our clients & team members. Arriving promptly for your reservation helps us maintain a relaxing experience for everyone & allows our nail techs to provide the best care without feeling rushed. If you can, we recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes early—your loose leaf tea will be waiting!

We’re big on transparency, especially when it comes to fairly compensating our talented nail techs. We charge for gel removal to ensure our team is properly paid for the extra time & effort it takes, whether the gel is from keen or elsewhere. Plus, when clients add this service during booking, it helps us keep the schedule running smoothly. Thanks for understanding & supporting our team!

Striving towards sustainability means reducing waste in every area of our business. One way we contribute is by skipping the single-use foam sandals you often see at other salons. So, when you’re visiting us for a pedicure, don’t forget to bring your flip-flops—they decrease waste while keeping your polish fresh. Thanks for making a small change that makes a big difference for the planet!

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so online at least 24 hours in advance. For cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours before your appointment, you will need to call us directly as the online option will no longer be available. Appointments canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged 100% of the service fee, plus a 15% gratuity. Same-day cancellations, reschedules, no-shows, & group bookings will be charged the full-service fee of the original appointment. Thank you for your understanding!

Upon arrival, throw your idea of a traditional nail service treatment out the door and allow us to guide you through your very own self-care experience. We don’t cut corners or rush at keen. Please allow the service time allotted to be reflected on your schedule. We invite you to be as present as possible during your practice.

FAQ's

Will bringing my own polish product reduce costs?

No, providing your own gel or regular polish of any kind will not reduce the cost of your self-care service. Each service is priced appropriately to properly compensate our nail techs for their time & labor.

Why do I need to wash my hands upon arrival?

Regardless of what service treatment (mani or pedi) you're receiving at our studio, we request that all clients wash hands upon arrival in order to ensure a clean, sanitary environment for all guests & team members.

Why will I still be charged if I downgrade my service?

If you choose to downgrade your service while at the studio you will still be charged for the service (& time) you've reserved on our books. This is a policy we have to implement in order for our nail techs to be ethically compensated for the time reserved on their schedules.

Do you charge for gel polish removal?

Yes! We’re big on transparency at keen. One thing we are super honest about is proper compensation for our talented nail techs. We charge for gel removal so that we can pay our employees accordingly for the additional time & effort it takes to remove the gel (foreign or from keen). Plus, when clients specifically add on this removal service while booking, we are able to have our studio schedule reflect that.

What is builder gel?

It's what acrylic treatments wish they were. Builder in a Bottle is a strengthening, clean gel polish applied to your natural nails for durability & encouraged growth. It is less damaging to your natural nails than acrylic because it creates a thin coat on your nails that allows them to remain healthy & grow while you wear the polish. If you're looking to grow & strengthen your natural nails, builder gel in a bottle is the best option!

How does a waterless nail studio work?

We're waterless because it's better for not only the planet but also you! A waterless manicure eliminates the soaking step of your service and replaces it with warm towel treatments, oils, homemade scrubs, & clean lotions. Trust us - our clients are always shocked by how much the prefer our water-free approach. Our treatments last longer & are more effective than traditional salons. Once you go waterless, you'll never go back.

Do you still treat calluses?

Yes! Just because we're waterless doesn't mean we're less effective. Our pedi's provide clients with better results then traditional treatments - just with way less water waste and no toxins.

Do you offer acrylic or dip manicures?

We do not - acrylic & dip treatments are filled with toxins & unsanitary. For those reasons, we don't offer them at keen. If you'd like to get a similar service, we recommend our Builder Gel mani. You'll never want an acrylic or dip manicure again!

Do you take cash?

Nope! We're committed to sustainability & made the call that going paperless would be more in line with our mission & values.

Do you accommodate for allergies?

All our treatment products are vegan & fragrance-free. Plus, we don't use any nut oils to be mindful of nut allergies. We opt for grape seed oil instead to avoid any allergy-related issues.

Are you a franchise?

We're flattered you asked, but no. keen is a local, female-owned nail studio located in the Clarendon area of Arlington, VA.
